A Gentle Place to Land
This painting is inspired by a travel trunk that evokes dreams of a cozy cottage where I can escape for long weekends. I envision a space that feels well-worn and brimming with memories from family vacations over the years. I can almost smell my grandma's chocolate chip cookies baking in the oven, while grandpa shares his wonderful stories, filling the air with laughter and warmth. It’s a haven untouched by modern devices, designed solely for meaningful moments with family and friends. As I step into this gentle retreat, I feel a deep sense of connection and belonging.
Where Time Softens
This image is born from my cherished memories of a home I visited in Provence back in the late 90s. I was fortunate to be invited to a place that had a certain magic, even in its disrepair. I can still remember the enchanting smell of fresh lavender wafting in from the fields just outside the door, and how the warm summer air enveloped me, making me feel completely at ease. As I wandered through this timeless space, listening to the French conversations that danced around me—though I didn’t understand them— I found myself dreaming about the life that once flourished within those walls. The leather seats invite you to sink in, encouraging you to get lost in a captivating conversation or enjoy a book, basking in the soft light that fills the room.
